Penn State Hazleton is holding a course designed to prepare high school students who will be taking the SAT. The course, to be held be held Mondays and Thursdays from 6 to 8 p.m., June 24 to Aug. 15, will help students learn about the format of the SAT and get tips for taking the test to help them score to their full potential.
The public is invited to attend the annual business meeting and dinner of the Hazleton Chapter of the Penn State Alumni Association, featuring Blair Thomas, class of 1989, former Penn State Nittany Lions running back. The event will be held June 5 at Sand Springs Country Club.

Penn State University Libraries awarded its Undergraduate Research Award: Excellence in Information Literacy to students at nearly all undergraduate Penn State campuses in April, honoring 97 undergraduate students as well as eight graduate students participating in their respective campus-wide research exhibition events.
The Penn State Board of Trustees Committee on Finance, Business and Capital Planning today (May 2) approved a proposal for renewing Penn State Hazleton?s Lofstrom Library. The project, which goes to the full board for consideration on May 3, will include infrastructure and programming upgrades to modernize the facility and incorporate state-of-the-art resources for students.

Penn State and the Invent Penn State initiative are honoring the late Pasco L. Schiavo, a longtime champion for Penn State Hazleton and the surrounding community who passed away Dec. 29, 2018, by naming the Hazleton LaunchBox in his name. The naming recognizes Schiavo?s stature in the region and a $1 million gift from his estate to the campus.
