February 10, 2012

MEDIA, Pa. -- Brandon Cunningham (Rancho Cucamonga, Calif.) scored 19 points to lead five Fayette scorers in double figures en route to a 90-64 victory over Penn State Lehigh Valley.

With the win, the Roaring Lions (10-12, 9-5 PSUAC) clinched their first PSUAC playoff berth in six years.

David Winns (Washington, D.C.) added 16 on a 7-11 shooting night. Tyler van Olst added 13 and was a perfect 4-4 shooting on the evening. Josh Tomson (Greensburg, Pa.) scored 12 and Ryan Hart (Pittsburgh, Pa.) added 10.

Fayette took a five-point lead into the locker room at halftime and the game remained tight until the 14-minute mark of the second half.

Winns hit a short jumper at that point that keyed a 22-2 run that ended with a Tomson jumper at the seven minute mark, making the score 70-45 and turning a tight game into a cruiser for the Roaring Lions.

Anthony Howard's (Uniontown, Pa.) three-pointer at the six minute mark opened the lead to 30 and sealed Fayette's first PSUAC playoff appearance in six years.
