SELINSGROVE, Pa. – The Pennsylvania College of Technology men's basketball team lost 107-61 to Montclair State in the consolation game of the Susquehanna University Pepsi Tip-Off Tournament Saturday. Sophomores Scott Fenton (Dickson City) and Jesse Newman (Waterfall) and freshman Christopher Carrington (Ridley Park) led with Wildcats with nine points each. The loss drops the team to 0-3 overall.
Montclair opened the game on an 8-0 run before Newman hit a three in the 18th to stop it. From there the Red Hawks continued to build their lead shooting an impressive 16-33 (.485) from the field). They were up 52-30 at the half.
Foul trouble proved a dagger in the second half with three Wildcats, Fenton, Newman and junior Bryant House (Columbia Cross Roads) all fouling out.
For the game, the Wildcats totaled 32 rebounds with sophomore Colton Acorn (Wellsboro) and freshman Parris Wragg (Baltimore, Md.) leading with seven a piece. Wragg also added four assists. They shot 17-51 (.333) from the field and continued strong shooting from the free throw line going 22-35 (.629).
