Beaver Suffers Heartbreaker

New Kensington, PA - The Penn State Beaver Men's Soccer Team (2-9, 2-3 PSUAC) dropped an important PSUAC matchup at the hands of Penn State New Kensington, by a score of 3-2.
The first half saw both teams attempting to find their rhythm and each had a few scoring chances that they could not capitalize on.
In the second half, just minutes in, New Kensington got on the board first as they tallied a goal in the game's 50th minute. Beaver's TJ Couch (New Brighton/New Brighton, PA) scored on a Jason Schachter (Langley/Pittsburgh, PA) corner kick, to tie the match up in the 55th minute.
New Kensington answered in the 67th minute, as they once again took a one goal lead. However, Beaver responded once again as Brad Prinkey (Freedom/Freedom, PA) scored an unassisted goal off a free kick, to knot the game up at 2-2.
Unfortunately, New Kensington scored with just moments left in regulation time, to earn the 3-2 victory.
In the loss, Beaver's keeper Cody Killmeyer had 11 saves and 3 goals against. Beaver's offense accounted for five shots, with Schachter leading with two shots on goal, while Couch, Prinkey and DJ Kemerer (Quaker Valley/Sewickley, PA) each added one shot apiece.
Beaver's next game will be on Saturday, October 1, 2011 at 1 p.m. against the Penn College of Technology (Williamsport, PA).
