Wildcats 12th at USCAA Championships
LAKE PLACID, N.Y. – Sophomore Dan Flynn (Blairstown) placed 39th with a time of 30:42.61 to help the Pennsylvania College of Technology men's cross country team finish 12th at the United States Collegiate Athletic Association National Championships in Lake Placid, N.Y. A total of 17 teams were in attendance with SUNY ESF winning it all with 38 team points. "We ran a pretty good race," said head coach Mike Paulhamus. "We needed to have that perfect race to compete with the top teams here. It's always a very tough field." Also for the Wildcats, sophomore Dan Starr (Stewartstown) was 40th with a 30:43.38. In total, more than 160 on the men's side and 140 on the women's competed.
Rounding out the scorers for the Penn College men were freshmen Dan Blauvelt (Flemington, N.J.) and Michael Acquaro (Oakhurst, N.J.) and junior Ed Knyff (Ocean Gate, N.J.). Blauvelt came in 59th (34:54.74) while Acquaro was 79th (33:31.84) and Knyff 81st (33:35.82).
On the women's side, freshman Eileen Harrington (Springfield, Va.) finished 142nd with a time of 40:53.70.
