Tarra Oravec is this week’s PSUAC Softball Pitcher/Player of the Week.  Oravec is a junior at Penn State New Kensington where she plays in left field and also pitches.  During this past week, she was outstanding.  On the mound, Oravec pitched two games and won both.  She pitched a total of 12 innings in two games and only gave up two earned runs on eight hits.  The two runs came in the Greater Allegheny game.  She walked only one batter in that same game.  In two games, she struck out a total of 15 batters.  Oravec recorded her second shutout of the season against Penn State Scranton.  She was also impressive at the plate.  In four games Oravec was 9 for 13, with an average of .692.  She recorded one triple and hit three homeruns.  She scored five runs while knocking in nine RBIs.  Oravec also had two stolen bases.
