Lady Lions open season with sweep

Game 1

Schuylkill got off to a slow start in their opener, trailing 1-0 after the 2nd inning. In the 3rd, the Lady Lions finally mounted an offense as they scored 4 runs, including a 2-run single by Tiffany Frantz (Fr./Pottsville). Senior Tia Lyons (Pine Grove) finished game going 3-4 with 2b, 3b and 2 run homer.

In the circle, Bryanna Snowell (So./Pottsville) maintain control of the Washington Adventist hitters, striking out 11 and allowing one unearned run.

Game 2

The Lady Lions jump on Washington Adventist, scoring 11 runs on 12 hits in the first inning. Schuykill was sparked by leadoff homerun by shortstop Jena Leffler (So./Pine Grove). The offense would rattle off 21 hits thoughout the game.

Once again Snowell was in control of the Lady Shock hitters striking out 9 and allowing 2 unearned runs over 5 innings of work.
