WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – With the help of 18 points and 13 rebounds from sophomore MacKenzie Brown (Lititz), the Pennsylvania College of Technology women's basketball team defeated Central Penn College 84-66. The Lady Wildcats offense was on fire with five players in double figures. The win improves the team to 2-1 overall.
The Wildcats went on a tear in the first half scoring 45 points to Central Penn's 26. They shot a season high 19-32 (.594) from the field.
The big lead helped in the second half as the Knights just edged out Penn College in scoring 40-39.
Also for the Wildcats, freshmen Danielle Mowery (Shamokin) and Jamie Steer (South Williamsport) each had 16 points while sophomore Jenna Matzinger (Coudersport) had 12 and senior Kierstin Steer (South Williamsport) had 10.
Kierstin Steer needs just 12 more points to become the first women's basketball player to score 1,000 career points.
