Monaca, PA--- The Penn State Beaver Lady Lions welcomed Bethany College for their first home game of the season and Bethany came away with the victory 76-58. The Bison took the lead early in the first half and held a 7 point advantage at half time. Bethany hit four second half threes and was able to put the game way as they improve to 1-3 in the young season.
Beaver was led by Cassandra Flowers (Pittsburgh, Westinghouse) who finished with 12 points and 14 rebounds. Morgan Kurtz (Washington, Trinity) scored 10 points, giving the Lions 2 players in double figures. Brooke Mulneix (Beaver Falls, Riverside) finished with 7 points and both Amanda Temple (Avella, Avella) and Jocelyn Warfield (Monaca, Central Valley) scored 6 points. Both Kurtz and Mulneix collected 6 rebounds for the Lions in the loss as they fell to 3-2 overall.
Beaver will play again on Friday as they travel to PSU Scranton to open up their 2012-2013 PSUAC regular season with game time scheduled for 6pm.
