ALFRED, N.Y. - Freshman Danielle Mowery (Shamokin) scored 14 and added 11 assists as the Pennsylvania College of Technology women's basketball team was just edged out by Alfred State University 66-62 Monday. Penn College led at the half 40-34 but a second half surge from the Pioneers took victory away. Sophomore Jenna Matzinger (Coudersport) sank 13 as the Wildcats drop to 2-3 overall.
For the game, the Wildcats totaled 54 rebounds with sophomore Makenzie Brown (Lititz) leading with 10. They shot 24-71 (.338) from the field just slighty better than Alfred who shot 27-85 (.318).
Also for Penn College, freshman Jamie Steer (South Williamsport) had 11 points while senior Kierstin Steer (South Williamsport) had 10.
Next up, Penn College hosts Penn State Hazleton for its first conference game of the season on Wednesday, Nov. 28 at 6 p.m.
