Penn State Beaver Grapplers Earn First Two Team Victories

Media, PA-  The Penn State Beaver Wrestling Team picked up its first two Team victories of its inaugral season, going 2-1 at the Williamson Trade Quad on Saturday.

In its first match.  Four wrestlers won their individual matches to defeat Valley Forge Military 24-0.

In the second match of the day, Beaver edged out host Williamson 13-12.  Freshman Bobby Tempalski (Hopewell/Hookstown, PA) pinned his opponent for the victory while sophomore's Tiaro Maas (West Allegheny/Imperial, PA) and Wesley Mummert (Red Lion/York, PA) both picked up victories by decision.

In the final match of the quad, Gloucester College blanked the Lions 25-0.

The wrestlers will return to action after the holiday break.  They host Penn College, Penn State Mont Alto, and Penn State Fayette for a quad match on Saturday, January 7th, 2012.  Wrestling will begin at 11:00 a.m.
