PSUD loses in home opener

The Penn State DuBois Lady Lions played a spirited match against visiting Mercyhurst Northeast on Thursday night losing 3-0 to the Lady Sailors.  The final outcome doesn't tell the full story of how well they played and the improvement of play over the first game of the year at Westmoreland CCC.  The entire team played with confidence and communicated better on the court.

DuBois had the lead 24-22 in the first game but Mercyhurst came back to earn the tough 26-24 victory in game one.  The final two games were won by the Lady Sailors 25 -15, 25-14; with the DuBois Lady Lions battling tough in both games.

Serving strong for PSUD was Karly Carnovale, while Ashley Meyer played well setting for Elainna Hilliard and Taylor Thornhill at the net.

PSUD plays 4 teams over the weekend; two matches at Penn College and two matches at PSU Wilkes-Barre.  The team returns home on Sept. 19th to play PSUAC division power PSU Beaver.
