The Penn State Wilkes-Barre (1-8) volleyball team won their first game of the season with a four-set match over Penn State Schuylkill on Sunday afternoon. Wilkes-Barre knocked off Schuylkill 3-1 by scores of 25-19, 26-24, 20-25, and 25-15. Senior Abby Collins led the way for her team with 15 service points and five aces. Sophomore Chelsea Wertz added 13 service points of her own along with four aces while Sophomore Sarah Konopki had six kills. In the nightcap, however, Wilkes-Barre fell to Penn State Brandywine 3-0 (25-9, 25-14, and 25-6). Sophomore Sarah Konopki added six digs for Wilkes-Barre. Wilkes-Barre will travel to Penn State Hazelton on Wednesday night for a conference match at 7p.m.
