UNIONTOWN, Pa. - The Pennsylvania College of Technology women's volleyball team split at a Penn State University Athletic Conference quad match Sunday at Penn State Fayette. The Wildcats defeated Penn State New Kensington 3-0, but were swept 3-0 by the host. The loss is the first in conference for the team and with the split are now 19-6 overall and 13-1 in the PSUAC.
Against Fayette, Penn College lost 25-6,25-15, 25-21. Freshman Gabrielle George (Morton) led with 12 digs and sophomore Courtney Gernert (Palmyra) notched six kills. The team could not find its way offensively totalling 23 attack errors in the game.
Things went much better against New Kensington taking the three sets 25-8, 25-16,25-12. George again led with 19 digs and Gernert with seven kills. Freshman Morgan Moberg (Huntingdon) tallied 11 assists.
The Wildcats next travel to Elmira College for a non-conference match on Wednesday, Oct. 17 at 6 p.m.
