Roaring Lions Eliminated From National Championships

CANTON, N.Y. -- Host school SUNY-Canton eliminated the Roaring Lions with a 3-0 in the quarterfinal round of the USCAA National Basketball Championships.

Canton defeated Fayette by scores of 25-22, 25-15 and 25-21.

Leah Ambrosini (Connellsville, Pa.), in the final game of an incredible career, led the Roaring Lions with seven kills. Emily Caldwell (Belle Vernon, Pa.) added five while Samantha Helmantoler (Monongahela, Pa.), Kaitlyn Salisbury (Madison, Pa.) and Janelle Cooper (Mt. Braddock, Pa.) all had four kills.

Emily Konter (Brownsville, Pa.) notched 18 assists to go over the 700 assist mark for the season. She also added 16 digs.

Cooper had nine digs and Caldwell eight.

The Roaring Lions finish the season 25-8 and champions of the PSUAC for the fifth consecutive year.
