Golfer of the Week 2

Jacob Bassham, Penn State Mont Alto 

Third Year

Chambersburg, Pa. 

Jacob Bassham compiled two top-three finishes this week, including a first-place finish. Bassham earned the top score, 73, at the Penn State DuBois Invitational at the DuBois Country Club on Sunday. His performance propelled Mont Alto to a first-place finish at the event with a team score of 329, edging out Kent State-Tuscarawas by one stroke. The day before, Bassham earned third with a score of 76 at the Penn State Shenango Officer Joe Izzo Invitational at Yankee Run Golf Course in Ohio where Mont Alto finished third.  

 

Women’s Runner of the Week 2

Faith Sullivan, Penn State Shenango

Second Year

North Jackson, Ohio

In her one and only recorded meet this year, Faith Sullivan placed 27th out of 82 runners in the NCAA Division III track meet at the Bethany College Invitational.  She recorded a time of 25:37.5 for the 6K.  

 

Men’s Runner of the Week 2

Noah Haines, Penn State Scranton

Second Year

Madison Township, Pa.

In the West Chester University season opener, Noah Haines recorded a personal collegiate record in the 5K, clocking a time of 18:03.50. He placed 26th out of 60 runners at the event. Haines, a USCAA Track and Field All-American in the 800m and 1500m, was running in his first 5K of the year.
