Shenango Sweeps Weekly Volleyball Awards, Named Team of the Week

Penn State Shenango Women’s Volleyball

Penn State Shenango solidified its spot atop the PSUAC West with 3-0 victories over both Penn State Greater Allegheny and Penn State Fayette this week to remain undefeated in PSUAC play. Shenango also scored a 3-1 victory of CCBC.

Women’s Volleyball Player of the Week 5

Izzy Mauro, Penn State Shenango

First Year

Warren, Ohio

Middle hitter Izzy Mauro led the team to three victories during the week, including two important PSUAC victories. She totaled 38 kills during the three games, including 16 in a 3-0 decision over Penn State Fayette as Penn State Shenango remained unbeaten in conference play and held its place atop the West. The team also swept Penn State Greater Allegheny and beat CCBC during the week.

Women’s Volleyball Specialist of the Week 5

Jillian Palumbo, Penn State Shenango

First Year

Hubbard, Ohio

Outside hitter Jillian Palumbo contributed 18 digs and 16 serve receptions while making only one error as Penn State Shenango swept both Penn State Greater Allegheny and Penn State Fayette during the week to remain unbeaten in conference play. Shenango also earned a nonconference victory over CCBC during the week.
