TEAM OF THE WEEK

Penn State Schuylkill Track and Field

The Penn State Schuylkill track and field teams had a total of 22 athletes competing at the Stockton Invitational in Galloway, N.J., and the group did well. Three athletes finished in the top three in their events. Tyrone Chambers won the men’s high jump with a clearance of 1.96 meters, a personal best. Ryan Galen finished third in the discus (40.27 meters). And Hannah Leininger placed third in the first collegiate meet of her career with a javelin throw of 38.75 meters.

 

SOFTBALL PITCHER OF THE WEEK 3

Alexis Thompson, Penn State Mont Alto

First Year

Waynesboro, Pa

Right-handed pitcher Alexis Thompson appeared in one game last week for Penn State Mont Alto. She pitched five innings, allowing only three hits with five strikeouts to NCAA Division III opponent Hood College. She gave up just one earned run across the five innings in a no decision. Thompson is 2-0 on the season with a 3.00 ERA.

Terri Williams, Penn State Mont Alto

Second Year

Chambersburg, Pa.

Outfielder Terri Williams had a strong performance in Penn State Mont Alto’s games last week versus Hood College. She had seven at-bats in the games and smacked five hits including two RBI for a .714 average. She produced four total runs as she reached based six times in eight plate appearances.

Right-handed pitcher Carter Fogal pitched a five-inning complete game and struck out nine in Penn State Mont Alto's 19-2 win over Me.-Agusta. Fogal finished the week with a 0.00 ERA and 1.20 WHIP as he picked up his first win on the mound in 2026.
