York, Mont Alto Lead Fall Chancellor's Cup Standings
UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - After a third place finish last season, Penn State York holds an early lead in the 2025-26 PSUAC Chancellor's Cup race after winning two championships this fall.
York collected 24.5 points, just 0.5 points ahead of second place Penn State Mont Alto. York catapulted to the top with championships in golf and women's volleyball, which itself is worth 12 points to the champion as a core sport offered by all campuses. York men's soccer advanced to the quarterfinals of their tournament to add 3.5 points.
Mont Alto holds down the runner-up spot for now despite no conference titles in the fall. Mont Alto's women's soccer team finished second and golf finished third in the PSUAC, while its men's soccer team was knocked out in the quarterfinals. The women's volleyball team made it to the semifinals to buoy its fall standing.
Right behind Mont Alto is Penn State Schuylkill with 19.0 points after picking up a conference title in women's soccer and making it to the quarterfinals in women's volleyball. Golf finished sixth overall in the PSUAC, while men's soccer also made the quarterfinals.
The biggest mover of the year is Penn State Scranton, who looks to finish inside the top 10 for the first time in over a decade. Sitting at fourth, Scranton shot up the leaderboard with a historic run to the PSUAC Men's Soccer championship match before finishing as runners-up in an overtime thriller. Scranton's golf team finished third, its best finish ever in the PSUAC, and added a playoff appearance in women's volleyball to total 17.0 points.
Rounding out the top five is Penn State Shenango, who despite only offering two fall sports totaled 16.0 points after finishing second in women's volleyball and fifth in golf.
The Chancellor's Cup awards points in descending order in each sport, with the champion receiving the most points. Sports that earn points include golf, men's and women's soccer and volleyball in the fall; men's and women's basketball in the winter; and baseball and softball in the spring season.
