Penn State York Extends Chancellor's Cup Lead, Penn State Beaver Makes Biggest Leap in Winter Standings
UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - As the winter sports season concluded, Penn State York extended their lead in the PSUAC Chancellor's Cup standings after winning both the men's and women's basketball championships in late February.
Holding a half-point lead over Penn State Mont Alto after the fall semester, York's lead now sits at 8.5 points over Mont Alto. York's dominance in 2025-2026 has spanned the semesters, with championships in golf and volleyball in the fall and now men's and women's basketball. Overall, York has won four of the six PSUAC Championships contested this year.
Mont Alto holds onto second place in the standings despite no championships this year, but semifinal appearances in men's basketball and volleyball have helped buoy their place. Penn State Schuylkill remains in third place, which includes a championship in women's soccer in the fall.
Penn State Beaver made the biggest leap in the winter standings, catapulting from 12th to fourth after both their men's and women's basketball teams finished as the PSUAC runners-up. Beaver now sits just one point behind Schuylkill, with baseball and softball yet to come.
Penn State Shenango rounds out the top five with 27.0 points, with Penn State Hazleton and Penn State Fayette both jumping three spots to remain tied. The campuses were tied for ninth after the fall, and remain so after the winter standings; however, they've both leaped to sixth.
The Chancellor's Cup awards points in descending order in each sport, with the champion receiving the most points. Sports that earn points include golf, men's and women's soccer and volleyball in the fall; men's and women's basketball in the winter; and baseball and softball in the spring season.
