Haines, Sullivan Win PSUAC Cross Country Invitationals

LEMONT FURNACE, Pa. - Favorites Noah Haines and Faith Sullivan won their respective PSUAC Cross Country Invitational races on Saturday on the Penn State Fayette campus, as the event took place concurrently with the United States Collegiate Athletic Association Cross Country National Championships.

Sullivan, Penn State Shenango runner, won the women's race for the second straight year, coming in with a time of 25:12.60 on the 6K course. Her nearest competitor came in almost 90 seconds later as Lilley Anderson was the first of four consecutive Schuylkill runners to cross the finish line. Anderson was followed by teammates Addison Zimmerman, JiaYi Gong, and Abigail Smithnosky to round out the PSUAC's top five finishers.

Haines of Penn Scranton captured his first men's PSUAC Invitational title on the 8K trail, finishing eight seconds ahead of second place finisher Jack Craig of Penn State DuBois. Haines pushed across in 29:37.20 while Craig ended his race at 29:45.20. Each of them was more than two minutes better than the third place finisher Ashton Owens, who won the 2024 PSUAC Invitational.

Craig's teammate Eli Fox finished fourth while Hunter Johnson finished fifth to give Scranton two runners in the top five.

Overall, Sullivan and Anderson finished in the top 9 of the USCAA women's race while Haines and Craig finished fifth and seventh in the USCAA men's race.
