UNIONTOWN, Pa. – Sophomore Jesse Newman (Waterfall) scored 13 and sophomore Scott Fenton (Dickson City) notched a double with 10 points and rebounds as the Pennsylvania College of Technology men's basketball team lost 81-57 to Penn State Fayette Saturday. Fayette shot an impressive 29-57 (.510) from the field in the win. The loss drops the Wildcats to 4-17 overall and 3-9 in the Penn State University Athletic Conference.
Both teams battled in the first half with three ties in the first 12 minutes. Fayette ended the period with a mini run to go into the break up 32-23.
The Lions controlled the tempo in the second holding the lead throughout. A three from Newman in the 15th brought it to within six.
For the game, the Wildcats committed 18 turnovers but were able to out-rebounded Fayette 44-32. They shot 23-61 (.380) from the field.
Next up, Penn College hosts Penn State York on Tuesday, Feb. 5 for an 8 p.m. game.
