PSNK Men's Soccer Picks Up a Pair of Road Victories, Lead PSUAC

The Penn State New Kensington Men's Soccer team (5-1, 5-0) picked up two more road victories this weekend against Penn State Wilkes-Barre and Penn State Schuylkill. On Saturday, the New Kensington Lions battled to a 2-1 victory over Penn State Wilkes-Barre. The scoring started early in the contest, as Ashutosh Pandey beat the keeper for the seventh time this season to give PSNK a 1-0 lead in the 10th minute. It didn't take long for Penn State Wilkes-Barre to respond as Mark Bugelholl assisted a David Cavalieri goal in the 11th minute to tie the game at 1-1.

The game remained deadlocked at 1-1 until Michael Clear was able to score the eventual game winner in the 52nd minute. The New Ken Lions were able to hold on for the 2-1 victory and keep the their PSUAC record perfect at 4-0.

Both goalies were challenged frequently and were able to keep their respective teams in the game. PSNK Freshman Goalie, Jimmy Cook, made 17 saves on 18 shots faced. Wilkes-Barre Goalkeeper, Anthony Aguilina, was able to record 13 saves on 15 shots faced.

Penn State New Kensington carried Saturday's momentum into Sunday's contest against Penn State Schuylkill with a 5-0 route of the home team. With Sunday's win, Penn State New Kensington Men's Soccer finds themselves atop the PSUAC with a 5-0 conference mark. PSNK rounds out the month of September with a pair of games at home against Mount Aloysius (Thursday, September 27 at 4 p.m.) and Penn State Brandywin (Saturday, September 29 at 2:30 p.m.)
