Pavasko Leads Wrestlers With 1st Place Finish At Waynesburg

Waynesburg, Pa- The Greater Allegheny Wreslters kicked off the 2012 calendar year with a trip to Waynesburg University, to compete in the 2nd-annual Waynesburg Invitational. As a team, GA would finish 12th out of the 31 participants.

  Michael Pavasko turned in a championship performance, finishing first in the 165 division. A 3-1 decision over Ohio Valley's Tyler George sealed the title. He becomes the first wrestler in GA history to finish first in such an event.  Fresman Matt Lago (Penn Trafford) also turned in a strong performance, sporting a 2-2 record on the day, in the 157 division. 

  Next on the schedule for the GA wrestlers is a January 12th conference match, at Penn State New Kensington.
