Wrestling: DuBois Takes Home PSUAC Title

STATE COLLEGE, PA - Competing in the USCAA/PSUAC Wrestling Invitational, the DuBois grapplers took home the PSUAC crown by edging Mont Alto 132-120.5 in the team standings yesterday afternoon at Rec Hall in State College, PA. 

DuBois was led by Logan Shirey, who won the 184-lb. championship following his 9-5 decision over Alfred State's Brad Haggerty.  Three DuBois wrestlers placed second in their respective classes: JP Hayles (141 lbs.), Ty Haines (157 lbs.) and John Prentice (174 lbs.). 

Three other PSUAC wrestlers were crowned champions of their respective weight classes, including two from PSUAC runner-up Mont Alto:  Tyler Warner defeated his opponent 9-4 to take the 149-lb. class, while Clay Kocsis earned a 6-0 decision at 165 lbs.  Philllip Marra of New Kensington was the 174-lb. champion, following his 2-1 OT victory.
